Max Hospital Hosts ‘Red Dot Talks – Voices of Change’ to Promote Menstrual Health Awareness

Lucknow: Marking Menstrual Hygiene Day with a strong message of awareness and inclusivity, the WomenShine Chamber of Entrepreneurship (WCE) organized “RED DOT TALKS – Voices of Change” at Max Healthcare, Lucknow.

The event aimed to break myths and social taboos surrounding menstruation while encouraging open conversations on menstrual health among women, young girls, men, and boys. The initiative focused on creating a more informed, sensitive, and period-positive society through dialogue and community engagement.

The chief guest for the programme was  Anupama Shandilya, Deputy Director, ICDS, Women and Child Development Department. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted the importance of awareness, education, and social acceptance in ensuring better menstrual health and dignity for women.

A thought-provoking panel discussion was held on the theme “Breaking the Silence: Menstruation, Myths & Modern India.” The session featured discussions on menstrual awareness, health concerns, social perceptions, and the need for greater sensitivity in schools and communities.

The panel included Pratima Tripathi, Pratibha Singh, and Seema Singh, while the programme was moderated by Yashika Bansal.

Speaking on the occasion, WomenShine and WCE founder Aparna Mishra said, “Menstrual awareness is not only a women’s issue but a collective social responsibility. Through Voices of Change, we aim to encourage open, informed, and inclusive conversations.”

Organizers also shared details of future initiatives, including school awareness campaigns, community outreach programmes, and efforts toward building a period-positive society.

Doctors, educators, social workers, women entrepreneurs, youth participants, and people from diverse sectors attended the programme, making it a meaningful platform for dialogue and social awareness.
